I was beyond excited when the gorgeous Todd Carey agreed to an interview, I love him and his music and have done since connecting with him on Twitter a few years ago. Being a big fan I was more than a bit nervous when we agreed on a video call interview….let’s just say there was a bit of fangirling on my part!

‘Who’s Todd Carey?’ some of you might be asking. Well let me give you a very brief history….

Currently based in New York Todd Carey is a hugely talented musician / singer-songwriter from Winnetka, Illinois. He’s toured nationally and performed on stage with big names such as Tony Lucca, Fall Out Boy, The 1975, Echosmith, Jason Mraz and John Mayer to name a few. His music has been featured in various television shows and movies, such as MTV’s The Real World and movies Palo Alto and True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet.

His interest in music began as a child and he credits Elvis Presley and The Beatles among others for inspiring him to learn to play guitar. He formed a jam band, Telepathy, with friends while at USC where he majored in Jazz Guitar. Together for 5 years they released three live albums and an EP. During his time in uni he also played a small part in the movie A Mighty Wind.

After graduating he went solo, giving guitar lessons to support himself. Since then he’s released 4 albums and 3 EP’s

Elevate (2003)

Live From a Place That Won’t Let Me Use Their Name (2003)

Revolving World (2005)

Whitefish Bay Sessions EP (2007)

Watching Waiting (2007)

After the Morning After EP (2010)

The Duets Project EP (2012)

Todd also co-wrote 3AM with Meghan Trainor which is included on her award winning Title album. His recent single ‘Ready‘ was featured in new Hallmark movie Murder she baked’ before it was even released!

2014 saw the release of pop sensation single Nintendo. The music video followed shortly after and has garnered over 875,000 views on YouTube. The quirky video for his most recent single OMG, released last year, has been viewed over 385,000 times. That’s some pretty big numbers…. but nothing compared to his 1.15 million twitter followers!

So there you have it, look out for the interview in the next few days….meanwhile I highly recommend you check out Todds music on his website as well as his YouTube channel, particularly his outstanding rendition of ‘Voodoo Child‘ a favourite of mine…..talk about guitar skills…wow!!!
